Reset your emotions for better wellness


Hey Mama,

As this week marks the moment when my precious birdie and most of yours over the next few weeks will spread their wings and embarks on their next adventures, I want to reach out to you with a heart full of compassion, understanding, and support. I know that this transition comes with a whirlwind of emotions — from the deep sadness of seeing our homes a little quieter to the uncertainty of what lies ahead and even questioning who are we without your kiddos.

Please know that it's okay to feel all of these emotions. They are a testament to the love and devotion you have poured into your role as a Mama over the years. Embracing these feelings, acknowledging them, and giving them space to be heard is an essential part of your journey toward growth and full wellness.

In the middle of the whirlwind, I want to encourage you to look ahead with hope and excitement for the new chapter that awaits you. This is a time to rediscover yourself, reignite passions, and explore new horizons. Start by making lists of hobbies or activities that bring you joy — whether it's revisiting old hobbies you once loved or trying something entirely new. My new hobby is pickle ball! Brings me a lot of joy!

Consider this as an opportunity to prioritize your well-being and create a better balance in your life. Use your newfound free time to indulge in self-care practices that nurture your mind, body, and soul. Whether it's taking long walks in nature, practicing yoga, or indulging in a good book, make self-care a non-negotiable part of your daily routine.

Don't forget to seek support and camaraderie from fellow empty nest mamas who understand and empathize with what you're going through. Surrounding yourself with a supportive community can provide comfort, encouragement, and invaluable insights as you navigate this new phase of life.

1 Shift I made to help me TRANSFORM my Wellness

Each season I like to make new goals...goes along with my 1% shift method that helps me implement and find success. So this summer I was thinking about what I want to continue implementing and strengthen as I move toward fall being a full time ENM.

Have you ever been in a room with someone and when you leave you feel drained? For many years, I did not understand how the 2 were connected. Learning that they are has helped create one of the biggest shifts in my wellness transformation. It's hard to articulate how life changing it has been. I show up much differently and now know what I need in order to protect my energy. BOUNDARIES! Do you have safety boundaries with others? If yes, hit reply and share (I always love to learn form others). If no, here are a few things to try out and why its important.

  1. Limiting Negative Influences: Setting boundaries with individuals who consistently drain their energy or bring negativity into their lives. This might involve minimizing interactions with toxic people, setting clear communication boundaries, and prioritizing relationships that uplift and support them.
  2. Protecting Personal Time: Giving yourself this space, carving out dedicated personal time for self-care, relaxation, and pursuing activities that bring joy. If you are an empty nest mama establish boundaries around your time and commitments, saying no to unnecessary obligations and prioritizing activities that replenish your energy reserves.
  3. Honoring Emotional Boundaries: Reminder: honor your emotional boundaries by not allowing others to dictate their feelings or manipulate their emotions. Encourage assertive communication and self-advocacy, empowering them to express their needs and feelings openly and assertively while setting clear boundaries around what is and isn't acceptable behavior from others.

By establishing and maintaining these 3 things, empty nest mamas can safeguard their energy, preserve their well-being, and cultivate a greater sense of empowerment and self-respect in their daily lives.
